'Sandcastles' is a series of sculptures in cement that resemble the ideas of sandcastles I would have as a child while sitting at the shore in my hometown.

It was common practice to pick up the water-saturated sand in between the fingers and let it drip down to create melted-looking piles. In addition to the cementitious substance cast in a container of sand, I utilize other construction materials such as drywall, tubing/piping, and hardware, to reference both cities I have lived in, both places being touristic cities on the ocean side that survive off of travelers vacationing in, and that have lost sunlight time due to high-rise buildings with an ocean view, casting a shadow on the beach way before dusk.
